Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Industrial)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and components within an industrial setting. Your expertise will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure, equipment, and processes.

Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical system design: Develop and design electrical systems, including power distribution, motor control centers, lighting, and grounding systems, in compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems into overall facility design and ensure efficient operation.
  2. Equipment selection and specification: Evaluate electrical equipment and components to determine the most suitable options for industrial applications. Prepare equipment specifications, review vendor proposals, and make recommendations based on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Electrical circuit analysis: Perform detailed electrical circuit analysis, including load flow studies, short-circuit analysis, and coordination studies, to ensure the integrity and reliability of the electrical system. Identify potential risks, propose mitigation measures, and implement necessary changes.
  4. Electrical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting: Develop maintenance strategies and procedures for electrical equipment and systems. Conduct regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and performance testing to identify potential issues and ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot electrical failures and implement corrective actions in a timely manner.
  5. Compliance with safety standards: Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and other relevant regulations. Implement and promote safe work practices, including lockout/tagout procedures, arc flash hazard analysis, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
  6. Technical support and coordination: Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and project management. Collaborate with contractors, suppliers, and engineering consultants to ensure effective implementation of electrical projects.
  7. Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of electrical systems, designs, modifications, and maintenance activities. Prepare technical reports, specifications, and drawings. Communicate effectively with senior, providing updates on project status, issues, and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional Engineer (PE) certification is desirable.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within an industrial setting. Proven track record of successful electrical system design, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  3. Technical skills:
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of power distribution systems, motor control centers, and industrial lighting systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards
  • Experience with electrical circuit analysis software and tools.
